Temple Shaaray Tefila is a vibrant, inclusive Reform congregation and anyone who seeks a warm and welcoming Jewish community will feel at home. Our programs offer a multitude of unique and engaging ways to celebrate, learn, pray and connect with Jewish traditions, teachings and with each other- both inside and outside our temple walls.

We are looking for creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Kindergarten-6th grade educators to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year. If you are passionate about teaching, love making Judaism come alive for young people, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want you! Our curriculum is interactive and modern and designed to engage, inspire, and guide our learners as they navigate the world around them.

KG meets monthly on Sundays from 9:00-11:15am
1st – 6th grades meet weekly on Sundays or Mondays
Sundays 9:00-11:15am
Mondays 4:15-6:30pm

All candidates should:
Be proficient in using educational technologies in a classroom setting.
Have strong communication skills, written and oral, for interacting with students and parents.
Have prior experience with experiential learning.
Be comfortable working with both children and families.
Have a strong sense of their own Jewish identity.
Be experienced in building community in creative ways.
Have prior teaching or camp experience (preferred).
Possess a sense of humor.
Respond well to feedback.
Be able to quickly adapt to our congregational norms and our school culture.
Thrive on building meaningful relationships.
Experience working in settings with children with special needs is a plus.
Be creative, with the ability to customize lesson plans.
Understand how to relate to students with different interests and guide/coach learners to enduring understandings.
Be able to read/chant the typical prayers in a standard Reform service (preferred for 3rd, required for Hebrew teacher 4th-6th).
